I have hundreds of txt files that I'm using a tool to convert them into HTML. The problem is the HTML file name stays the same, it is a generic name like 1S0133.htm. Which doesn't work well when creating an index automatically because that is the name that shows up. What I want to do is batch rename the txt files to the first sentence of the txt file which is the actual title of the article. Is there a tool that can do this automatically and make this simple? Otherwise I'll have to open up each file and change the title myself.

I can put something together for you to do this if interested. PM me if so. I would need to know if you want to use the actual spaces in the sentence or underscore, if you want everything to be converted to lowercase, etc.

I'd defiantly be interested, because I've resorted to manually doing it. A program I use Text Aloud Mp3 has the ability to pull up multiple files and it made it less tedius. But I have nearly 30,000 txt files to do. It took almost 2 hours to do 76 files. As you can imagine I'm needing a software solution for this.

I found tools to covert the txt to html and create an idex. It's just that the title of file needs to be changed, otherwise none of my users will have a clue what's in it. The best method is to just change the name to the first sentence. But the first sentence isn't exactly on the first line. It's usually about 3 spaces down.
