Before posting I searched for "downloadable files" and found this http://www.webmaster-talk.com/showth...loadable+files but it doesn't help me.

I want to put a downloadable screensaver (.scr) file on my site.

How can I do this?

Just link to it.

For example, if your file is called screensaver.scr, then a link to it would look like this:

HTML Code:
<a href="screensaver.scr">Linked text or <img></a>

Ah yes. Thank you Marc.

I had plonked the file in a folder within the root directory and tried linking to it but for some reason it didn't work. It's fine now.

You probably linked to it relatively (using only the filename). To link to files within folders you need to include the name of the folder within the link, too.

Hmmm, I did, but I must have made a mistake. I have just tried it again and it does work now. ( <a href="files/screensaver.scr"> )

Many thanks Marc.
