Hello there,

I am interested in getting an idea what it would cost to create a website I am working for. Here's an overview of the website:

- There are basically 3 company guides which allow people to search for companies in a certain sector. By using a MySQL database and PHP, the visitors can go to either one of the guides, and they then search by selecting some criteria or by entering (part of) the name. At first, the visitors will see a list of the companies in that category, and they then can click on a name to open a company profile which includes a description, picture, standard information, contact info, etc. For each company, they can leave comments regarding experiences they had there. Those comments go into another MySQL table and are published right away. Also, people can 'tell-a-friend' about every company by just clicking a link and filling in the e-mail address.

- New companies can be added or old ones can be modified in a maintenance section for the owners of the website. This is all very easy and they just fill in a form.

- The owners of the companies receive a password and username, which allows them to 24x7 change certain information of their listing.

- There are two PHPBB2 forums available on the website.

- There is this calendar of events which is managed by the website owners as well. In this calendar, there is a 7 day overview given of events what are to take place, which are entered by the owner. Adding / modifying events is again very easy to do, in the maintenance section. Every day the events page will select the correct time span and show the current events.

- There are digital postcards which can be send by the visitors.

- There is a newsletter to which everybody can subscribe.

- There are some 60 more static HTML pages

- There are two types of photo galleries available, both including several categories of photos and both easily maintainable using the maintenance section (the photo information is stored in a MySQL table).

- There are some nice Flash tools on the website.

- The whole website is bilingual.

- The design is professional, and all pages load very fast (due to CSS designing).

- The website holds at this moment more than 1,000 pages; excluding the forums but including the company guides.

I know some of it is kinda vague, but could somebody give me a ballpark figure on this? Any idea what a professional company would charge for this? I'm just talking about designing the website and the databases; not positioning the website.
