can someone explain how to fix a problem i'm having using templates in dreamweaver...after creating the template and then going on to create a subsequent html page, i try to insert an image into one of the editable regions, but the image distorts all the tables of the html greatly and it looks horrible, and then you can't fix it because the tables are locked because of what i did in the template...any solutions?

couple of questions.
1. whats the size of the image??
2. after inserting the image, if as you say the html goes wrong.. close the file and dont save it.. thats one way.
3. it would be helpful if u could explain "but the image distorts all the tables of the html greatly and it looks horrible,"??

as far as i have seen, this is not the case.

is ur editable region big enough to accept this image??

the idea behind using a template is is you edit only those regions which will have diff contents.. so even if you try to add something to an non editable region. dreamweaver wouldnt allow it. it will show u warnings.. unless u edit the file in someother editor or program.

that could be the problem...the image is bigger than the table size i'm trying to fit it into...it doesn't automatically scale down the image? when i insert the larger picture, the table becomes much larger, distorting all the other tables around it, which are uneditable regions, and then i have the problem of not being able to fix those regions because they are locked.

then you will have to resize the image to fit into the table or u have to increase the table width in your template to fit the image.
