I've been trying to set up a Dreamweaver testing server. It was troublesome until I found a set of instructions that actually worked. I thought I would share it for others going down this path. It's actually not that hard if you have the correct info. The author, Jeff Lundberg gives instructions on how to install Apache, PHP, MySQL , PHPMyAdmin and few other bits and bobs. He seems to keep the instructions up todate for the latest versions. I now have a functional Dreamweaver testing server

Here's the link: Apache Guide

Enjoy!

One other thing. Initially when using the Preview in a browser option I got the red x for images. This was fixed by synchronising my local site to the testing server and either using doc relative links or checking 'the use temporary file name' option in preferences - preview in browser.

You don't need to install php, mysql, and apache individually yourself. Just use XAMPP http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
