Hi, i´m using mambo for a site, but now i need to change to other cms due to some problems. Which open source CMS is best for an auctions site? i need a menu with categories and subcategories that link to static php content... nothing complicated but i need good stability.

Thanks in advance.

Well, you could try Joomla, which is the product all the ex-Mambo developers now work on.

I also worked with Drupal, and as long as you have the PHPTemplate module installed, it's OK for custom layouts. However, it's geeky. You'll spend a lot of time in PHP code.

The other one I've worked with is Movable Type. That system is good because it'll do just about any layout. The bad news is that it'll do any layout because you pretty much input raw HTML to build up the templates.

I don't really see an ideal solution. If it were me, I'd probably go to hotscripts.com (or some similar place) and search for auction PHP scripts. Then I'd just drop in the auction script, let it run the whole site, and maybe change the look & feel.

I always liked Nuke PHP, Maybe because it is what i am used to. I also thought it was easy to edit and create skins for.
