Hi All

My Sis in Law designs stationery and has asked me to design and build her a website, that will show off her work. I pretty much have an idea from sitting down with her and sketching out ideas of the design and themes we want to try out. Shes also a photographer so all the stock images will belong to her for any graphics so that should also be a cinch, What im a bit new too, is incorporating a ''gallery'' or ''catalogue'' to show off her work. She also wants to be able to update herself with her work as she goes.

Can anyone recommend the best way to go about this, im open to learning new ideas and new technology.

Just want to also say Hi as im a newbie and this site is really helpful, thanks for letting me in!

Cheers
MissT (now MrsG but cant change this?)

Since she wants to update the gallery herself, I would use an image gallery script. There are a billion of them floating around. You may need to try a couple before you find one that is acceptable.
You can start looking here.
http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ies/index.html
Some are free and some cost $$. You can sort through them and see they are rated. Some scripts are a pain to install so look for one that has a good ranking and and simple installation. You will also want to make sure that your server will run the script you choose.
If you choose a PHP,MYSQL script, then your server (where your site is hosted) must be set up to allow PHP MYSQL connections. if your host does not allow them then i would find another host.
Flat file scripts do not require a database but are generally not as good quality as PHP.
Some web host include free image scripts with your hosting account, so check with your web host as well.
Good Luck.

Or you could try the link in my sig. It's easy to use wysiwyg editor and all she needs to update her site by herself is a browser and internet, no tech skills - just ms word experience. You can create very nice galleries with thumbnails or slide show view and upload the images in zip files.

Hope this helps.
