I have a new client that insists we display high resolution pictures on her website.

It is my understanding that all pix displayed on a browser are at 72bpi regardless of the resolution the pix is stored at on the site..

Anybody know of a method to display high resolution pix?

That's right, you are completely at the mercy of your monitor resolution. You can test this by using some daft resolution like 1 pixel / inch and seeing how that displays. Amazingly, your image will display at the same quality as if you'd used 300 pixels / inch.

Resolution does make a difference for print though.
