Hi, I'm after a couple of little things for my website, wanted some advice on where to look.

I need;

a) some kind of rating system, where people can rate a page out of 5 for example and the rating will automatically adjust and display on the page

b) some kind of user feedback function, where users can post their comments, but the comments have to be verified by a moderator before they are automatically put on the page.

any ideas? My linux hosting provides full support for PHP, Perl, CGI and Python...I'm not looking for anything too complex as I'm still learning, but any help is appreciated.

I'm certain both will have the rating system you want and I think you'll be able to find the comment system you're looking for as well or at least something close enough that you should be able to modify for your specific needs.

Why don't you just use phpbb. It has polls. Maybe you could set up a forum topic just related to rating your pages. And, you can set the parameters so that when somone posts, it has to be approved by the administration. Although, i have been ready alot at the phpbb forum that suggests some people/bots are still hacking around the approval setting. If you do consider this, i noticed that you didn't list mysql in what your host provides, so...

My host does provide MySQL yes, I'll check out phpBB thanks!
