There should be plenty of support for this in the phpbb community.

But, it really depends on which style you are using. If you are using the default subsilver, then you have to change the overall_header.tpl and/or the phpbb logo in the images folder.

In overall_header.tpl find..

Code:
<img src="templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB.gif"
border="0" alt="{L_INDEX}" vspace="1" />
and change the src to point to your file somewhere else. (if you do that, make sure you give the full path, since most likely it will be outside of phpbb.)

If you just want to change the image without changing the name of the file or src. then simply create your own image and replace logo_phpBB.gif in the images folder (simply name your image logo_phpBB.gif and over-ride the original.)

ok so it did not save it so that you can see the entry areas.

It mostly just gives me an option to change colors.

I guess its not that bad.

I just see alot of forums like this one where people put gogle and ads on it. This one does not seem like I can

I would suggest not using the template manager.

To change the image, you have to edit the files yourself. Or, replace the image yourself. You would have to acces the files through your control panel, where you keep all of your files. Your phpbb files should be in a directory called html, under phpbb or phpbb2. Once you find the phpbb folder, enter and find the templates folder, then choose the subsilver folder. In there you will find the files and images that make your forum. Find the appropriate tpl. file to edit. If you can't do it from your control panel, you'll need to copy it to your computer to edit, then upload it back to the internet.

Phpbb community would be of more help here. Besides the forum, they have tutorials, and maybe a mod (modification) that would allow you to change the image from your phpbb administrator control panel. In fact, i know they do. The only thing is, you would have to edit files yourself. That seems to be your problem.
