ALOHA!!!

The idea behind this whole thread came from a post (by styric - website downloader) and it kind of got me to thinking: I wouldn't be surprised if someone from CORE, FOSI, or some other reputable "cracker" crew did come up with something to extract server-side "everything"... seems like it's just a matter of time...

The gamut of html extractor programs on the market almost put templatemonster.com out of business until they stopped uploading their "live action views" awhile back but still, doesn't it seem like this is the path that "gen-x" website designers could be heading???

I mean, think about it, there are so many extractor programs out there now, that I'm sure (99.99% sure at least) that some genius is going to come out with a program soon that will be able to "get" server-side "everything"... and with the copyright/intellectual property laws concerning websites and website design being such a "grey" area/issue - - - who's to say that this website or that website is really THE "original"...

I mean c'mon, templates (made from extractor programs) are being sold on the market everyday to the naive and while "buyer beware" certainly applies here - - - where do we draw the line between newbie gullibility and straight-up fraud?

Not to mention the "election process" for a NEUTRAL / UNBIASED / NONPROFIT copyright infringement police force that is supposed to suddenly step in and try to regulate this?

All I'm suggesting is that this seems to be the next logical (albeit unethical) step for mainstream website design (for the next few years at least).

What say you?

Cheers...Blayne A.
