Can anyone help here?
I am trying to find out how to place a graphic so that it brings up a miniature logo in the URL address bar at the top of the browser, and also adds it into the list of favourites as a small icon next to the website name.
I am using Dreamweaver MX. Any help please?

its a ico image make the image format ico and link it in the meta section

there are websites that make them for free for you do a search on google for ico image

sorry I mean do a search for favicon.ico as that is what the image is

I've had a look at the favicon website, and can see that what I need is an ICO.
I already have a couple of Icon creator programs that could produce a reasonable icon, but can't really work out how to get the images to embed into their system.
Anyway, assuming I fumble my way through that, and manage to create an ICO, is there any reasonably easy to use script or command I can use that does the job of inserting the ICO in the web browser and favourites list?
Messing with meta tags is a bit alien to me.

just save it as favicon.ico leave it in the website root and browsers will find it. no need to do anything.

Thanks for this. I have created it as a 32 x 32 image and placed it in the root folder. However, in the address bar I just get a blank space where the icon should be. It shows something must be working, as at least a blank space has been substituted for the IE "e" icon, but no image appears.

Does going to http://www.docgb.org show up anything on your browser? Can you tell anything from the attached ico file?
