Thought I might share my way of getting some great content.

My site was mostly based around programming languages. I decided to add somthing more. So I added a Resources area.
By Resource area I mean links to sites that will help the visitor.

I do not get alot of submits BUT i do get alot of link exchanges.

SO.. What you do is create a resource area and every time you get a site you want to exchange links with you simply add them to your Resource area and they add you two were ever.

Its like hitting two birds with one stone. You get content on your site and you also get a link exchange.

Now I have over 200 Links in my resource area one fo the biggest areas that people visit on my site

i'm actually using that same method to get some link exchanges going on and have to agree it works. An easy way to keep your main pages neat and give your visitor related links all organised in one place. A good free script i would recommend is http://www.directory-search.org/directory_script.php

The other way to add new content is to offer people write articles about smth and post these articles on your web-site with their links or e-mails. One of my friends used this method. After a time he thought out one more way. He made online store, and invited people to sell their e-books in that store...

Exchanging articles is a great way to get content and traffic... it's win, win.
