Dreamweaver adding a "/" to path

Hi, got a strange one here. First noticed it at college yesterday and then again at home today. I've done my site through Dreamweaver and on my home machine I noticed that it wouldn't run on localhost using IIS. It also behaved the same on a dedicated server at college yesterday. it turns out that Dreamweaver, I think, is adding a "/" in front of link paths, such that a link back to index.htm becomes /index.htm and so doesn't work. i've had to go through every page altering the image source and any links in the HTML for it to run. has anyone any ideas why this happens? i have no problems when I chuck it up to my live host so is it a Windows issue?

Cheers, Lol

Check to see what the root directory is set too. If you create paths that are relative to the root and your index is not in the folder that DW thinks is the root, this can happen..
