I just want to thank you guys and gals in advance. Thank You!

I am a complete novice to websites building, but I got DW, fireworks, flash8, because I was told that it was for beginners.

I have bumbled my way through making 2 pages, and making one a template.

I can't get it to "put" the files on the server, but I have been using IE ftp browser to do it.

I turn to you folks, because I have been through all sorts of indignities, and tortures from Geo..-earthli...- &Godad.. techies.

Here are my questions
If I want to put a "information request box" on one of my pages. What is the box called? Do I have to set that whole page up as a "dynamic page" so that a box like that can be place there in the future. Please remember I am a novice, and really don't fully appreciate in Kid terms what a dynamic page is. I just what to know if my templates that I have made for the other 7 pages will allow me the flexibility of adding a form so that viewers can submit information to me

Next:
Is this something a novice can add with DW? Please look at this page http://www.saigonline.com/truc_huy/qoh1.htm
The swing chain of gems that follows the pointers! How do they do that, and can I attempt to do something like that. Or is something like that better left to the pros.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time and energy

Hey as a fellow novice, and trust me i've only been using DW for about 2 months more than you, Here's a book i would recommend. It's called

"Hands-On Training Macromedia Dreamweaver 8". (written by Daniel Short and Garo Green, and sponsered by Lynda.com). I went from complete n00b to noob who at least can function on his own in DW and the book really helped me get off the ground and running in DW.

I know this doesn't completely answer your question, but I hope it gets you going in the right direction.

For the chain of gems, that's just a Javascript script. View the source for that page to get the URL of where you can (or should be able to) get that script. Hopefully there will also be instructions on where to add the script to your page.

I don't use DW myself but I understand it's fairly easy to add a script to your page. Someone else will have to tell you how to do that, unfortunately. Sorry.

It's called a 'mouse trail' and it's such an OLD trick - and it does not work in Firefox.
Whoever told you that the Macromedia Suite was for beginners was off his/her nut. They are, IMO the best, but far from good for a beginner if you have no HTML, CSS or other knowledge. In contrast, FrontPage is for beginners, but it spits out garbage proprietary code.

AS for DW putting files, have you accurately defined the remote site in your Manage Sites area ?? If not, it's not going to PUT. Once you define your site, includin the remote server, it should PUT the files pretty handily.

I was able to view the script describing the mouse trail, but when I try a copy and paste of it into my coding, it produced no effect.

The programmer had his site in the coding, but his site is down.

And help on this one
