in my website, I was wondering what would be the best color for the background, just a pure white? or an ivory? or a super super light light blue? It might just be opinion but I wanted to know if there is anything with the eye or anything weird. THanks

It will probably depend some on the rest of your design. White is often the color of choice, because it will help the text stand out the most and be the most readable. I know sometimes the white background looks a little too bright and I want to tone it down some. I don't think there are any specific problems with using a different color other than losing a little contrast with the text color.

Really just depends on the other colors you've chosen for the design. I've seen a light colored background work very well on some sites and I've also seen it work poorly.
