well im hoping to make a new profile site, but before going on ive decided to get reviews and oppinions upon it. Between the nav and main site im thinking of having a banner and perhaps the nav should fly in from the left..

Don't make it fly in. Leave it static. That gets old fast.

Your layout is okay for the most part, as long as you don't plan on using Copperplate Gothic as your body font (it's a non-standard font).

Also, you may want to look at some colour for the site. That much grey is just depressing and nauseating.

The color scheme makes me think of Halloween

There's a decent color scheme tool here: Defence Mechanism > Developer > ColorToy 2 - The Flash Color Schemer [BETA]

I agree on the flying nav.. don't do it. If a user has javascript disabled or are using assistive technology that does not execute jS, then you wind up with no navigation at all.

I'm pretty much in agreement with everyone else. Overall though I like the design. Nice and clean, but yeah more color, avoid the sliding in effect and use a basic font for the main text.

I'm also not sure I would mention your age in your bio. It's not fair, but some will hold youth against you without taking the time to see what you can really do. Maybe just mention your a student. They can think you're a graduate student if they want. On the other hand if you're looking to build sites for younger people you're age might actually be a benefit. In which case just ignore me.

LadynRed thanks for the link. I'm always struggling with find a good color scheme so tools like the one you posted are great.

Oh yeah, I guess I missed it.

That looks pretty good. I like the colors and the Flash navigation looks better that I was thinking. Definitely add the text only navigation at the bottom to help search spiders since they won't be able to read the Flash links.

Looks good. Already much better than the first one.

You should just be able to add the image right inside of the div for the box. To make it linkable just wraps <a> tags around it.

<div>
<a href=""><img src="" ... /></a>
</div>

I'm not sure I'm following. I looked at your code and it looks like you're adding the images inside of table cells. What I said above would still apply, but instead of divs you would have table cells.

<td>
<a href=""><img src="" ... /></a>
</td>
