Hey guys, I'm new here so please bear with me. I haven't designed a web page in over 7 years, so I'm pretty much a newbie now. I have access to Dreamweaver 8 and was wanting to make a webpage for a sponsor of mine. I really like the style layout like you find on this page http://www.reedymotorsports.com/, I love how the site layout has bold graphics and they all flow together like it's a single image created in Photoshop. How can I make this in Dreamweaver 8? I am very good with Paint Shop Pro X, and Photoshop. Would I basically just draw the entire page in one of these paint programs, then somehow cut it up into Dreamweaver 8?? I haven't any idea how to accomplish this. ANy help is greatly appreciated

I have no idea how much im going to be, but im going to give it a shot.
1) Tables are your freind! Use them, and use them alot
2) the site you shown consistes of 12 images. easy job. Desing the image, place them into dreamweaver.(making sure the file path is correct corristpoinding to where its going to be on the sever).
3) before I start any web site I sit down and do a few steps. Ask my self, what is the site for? whos my audience? Draw out on paper what the site will look like, and write out all my content before I even touch the computer. if you cant answer or do one of these steps, Find a new topic, or designign a web site is not for you.
4) find a free website templet site, download a good looking site, and figure out how they did it.

cant help any more than that. Read tutorials, thats all I can say.

Try to avoid tables and start learning css for positioning page elements. It's much more cleaner and You have total control of Your page. Tables are good, but for tabular data.

For designing web page...hmmmmmm....very messy code, nested tables, spacers....

Find some tutorial on net and start

Yes, please no tables.

It will take longer, but you will end up with better web pages all around if you start slow using CSS instead of trying to use tables.

The best way to learn is to start with something easy and simple and work your way up to more complicated designs.
