Hey guys, I'm going to start up a blog, but I just dont want to use Wordpress or Blogger (for some reason).

Anyways, I was wondering if yall can suggest something else.
Something free, secure, and easily skinnable (css based).

How about movabletype? It is similar to Wordpress in ways, but I think that should be fine.

Why do you hate Wordpress so much?

I just hate it because one of my nooby friends use it.
Basically I think its a great blog system, but for the pure reason that one of my friends use it, I cant use it.

Also, I don't like to use something that mostly everyone else uses.

Own domain.
Btw, I also need CMS that can import XML files.
Basically the old blog script I was using can make a xml feed with my entires...so ya.

Yeah, movable type is probably the next most popular.

There are a lot of good alternatives, some that I have used in the past are:

Nucleus CMS
Textpattern

they both generate xml feeds.
