I'm having an impossible problem.
My client has changed the Security settings (exact details, I don't know, she is too embarassed to confess all

) within FrontPage so that now the Security... option is greyed out for both of us and whenever the website is loaded into a browser the Username/Password panel pops up. If you enter the server U/P then you get into the site with no problem... otherwise you get
-----------------------------------------------
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this director or page using the credentials that you supplied because your web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept.
Please try the following:
<snip>
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unaurthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration
Internet Information Services (IIS)
-----------------------------------------------
The server is Windows (what variety - I don't know, but possibly 2000)
I can up/down load with FTP, but FrontPage is locked out.
I have uninstalled the FrontPage extensions from the server
Deleted the .htaccess file
Got rid of all the DOCTYPE stuff at the top of the scripts
Apart from this, I have no idea what to do to fix this access problem.
I am assuming that the IIS settings on the server need to be changed somehow, but what; where; etc I don't t know.
The problem is NOT with my browsers (IE6 & Netscape7) as I can access all my usual websites without any of this nonsense!
Please, has anyone ever come across this before?
Regards,
