My goal is to build a website for friends of ours who are moving to Australia for several years. We want to have people leave "goodbye" messages, upload pictures, etc. We also want the family to be able to upload pictures to the site once they get there, and we will do the same.

I'm trying to decide whether I should go the wiki route, or build a traditional web site, with open permissions. I'm not that familiar with building a wiki, though with what I've played with, it looks pretty "flat" to me - i.e., not friendly enough for what we want. Can someone with more experience in this area add any coments or suggestions that might help me with this decision? Thanks-
