Can someone tell me about RSS? This is still new to me, and what I'm wondering is
-- Where do I get an RSS feeder
-- How would I add it to my site
-- How do I add articles to it once it's added

I don't expect you to tell me these things step by step, but maybe if you know of a good tutorial or two that are aimed at those who are not RSS rocket scientists?

Also, do you think it's a good thing to add something like this to a website, and does it generate more traffic, or no noticable difference really, and does it help as far as search engine placement/visibility is concerned?

Thank you! Hope someone can answer this

Actualy RSS for site owner is (or at least can be) a simple text file in special format. It usualy contains links and short descriptions for the site news, events, etc... you decide what to put in it. For example I'm going to add RSS at gettemplate.com to announce new templates on my site, so people can see whether or not I have something new without visiting my site.

How to create RSS feed? try to search "RSS generator" in google, or take a look at somebody's RSS file format and create yours with similar structure "on the fly" with php.

And yes, this definately will help you to get more clients... maybe not more traffic on the site because people do not need to visit it to see the new any more, but they will have a simpler way to receive your announcents.
