Ok i just recently purchased a script that outlined my whole site (justgottaplay.com). I have very little experience in web site design. I see in my database their are all kinds of files as well as my ftp. It might as well be in yiddish for all i know. I need to change the layout of the site and add banners and adsense. I am clueless as of now how to do this. Is there a program i can get, and if so how do i get my site in there. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

Hello.
I'm not a pro or anything, but you can use an offsite designer like frontpage or dreamweaver, save the file and upload it using the ftp you spoke of.
Those programs can get a little expensive.

There are low cost options like godaddy.com's website tonight that have templates ready for you to customize and save and upload.

You might want to check that out at the following url-
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosti...?se=%2B&ci=265

I don't know if you need to have godaddy host it, but it works for some people.

Good luck...

Master FP.. and you have a crappy website !!

If you want the site up quickly, find someone to do it for you. If you have plenty of time to learn yourself, buy a book or two and start learning HTML. This one is excellent for beginners:

No WYSIWYG programs are needed, you can code a website with NOTEPAD - and you'll have the ultimate control of every single piece of your site to boot !

It might not even be THAT difficult. Either your host's control panel or the script itself may allow you to alter the look and feel of your site template without having to know much. It's not a final solution, but it's a hell of a bandaid for a newcomer.

Did you check with either of them?

I'd open the files associated with the page you want to update and open on your pc using notepad. You may then look for the sections and add the stuff you want and save it again. Preview it offline to make sure the changes are looking OK and if so, just upload it again using ftp or file manager in your hosting control panel. Definetly learn some HTML basics will help you a lot for that.
