Per the specs, if you specify a foreground color for your text, you should be defining a background color for the element that is holding the text. This is a common 'warning' from the validator but it doesn't mean your code isn't valid. It's a warning.. mostly for accessiblity purporses, that you SHOULD be defining a background color. Unless it says 'this is NOT valid css', then use the marker.
Maybe if you posted a link to the site we could actually see what you've got.

...I wanted to get the validation mark on my site and I cant because somehow validation system dosent "see", or sth. that the bg. color is set ...any ideas??
