Hello

Built a site for a client using Front Page. Client wants to be able to edit some text here and there but has only very basic IT skills.

She hosts with Yahoo! which has this software WYSIWYG called SITEBUILDER... I could install that on her PC, but I think it may still be too difficult for her to use.

Is there any WYSIWYG you can use to edit the site ONLINE, without having to download it first to your PC, etc (like site builder does). Another problem with Sitebuilder is that once you've made changes to the site, FP can't access it anymore.

I guess I'm looking for something of a stripped down version of FP. FP for dummies, if you will.

Thanks

There probably isn't one.

FrontPage creates proprietary, garbage code. Other HTML WYSIWYG editors for the most part create proprietary, garbage code as well.

So...my suggestion to you would be either to code it properly or to build the site again using the same editor you install for her. (The first way being the best way, of course.)

From my experience of people with limited html skills any WYSIWYG editor will be too complicated. They need a simple content management site where all they have to do is change the text or pictures and can't make any mistakes.
An online CMS like Joomla would mean they don't have to download anything onto their PC although you would need to be able to configure the server side database.
If you don't fancy that then they could just download a client side CMS like www.straight2web.net although you'd still need to supply them with a suitable template to make it look right.
