hi everyone,
i'm new to this forum. i have dabbled in a few web sites over the years, got started with frontpage98.... recently, am trying to hand-code using a text editor to get a good foundation, esp. with css.

anyway, i had a design question. i am creating a site with a list of top 10 products/services in different categories. each item will have a link to the product's page (many of them affiliate links).

my question is, would it be better to have all ten items on one page so that the user has to scroll down? or, would it be better to have each item on it's own page and have 'back'/'next' links below the description to navigate through the lists?

second question: make the list from 1 to 10 or 10 to 1... or doesn't matter?

thanks for you thoughts.

first question: i dont get it
second question: usally, as we count the number we go from 1 to 10, not the oppisite, therefor 1-10 will be good. or if you want them to scroll a bit down, do 10-1 because one will want to see that top product, yet thats up 2 ur website intentions and goals. have a good day!

thanks for the feedback.
guess the question wasn't worded very clearly.

for the list, each item (let's say it's a list for certain books on Amazon) would have a pic, and a description of 2 or 3 paragraphs. so, by listing all 10 on one page, the viewer will have to scroll down the page, maybe quite a bit.

instead of having to scroll, would it be better to have item #1 on its own page, then a link to item #2 on the next page, and so on?

i remember reading somewhere that web designers should try to have all important info 'above the fold' of a page so that the visitor doesn't have to scroll down. but is this advice still valid, or out of date?

thanks again for your thoughts.

1: scroll is good, keeps the related items grouped together

2: 10....1 like the late night show.
