How does one synchronize a Dreamweaver site in the following manner:

1. Local Copy on my Hard Drive, synchronize to testing server: (for example) www.testingserver.com/testsite

2. Synchronize "www.testingserver.com/testsite" to "www.liveserver.com"

I've only been able to sync from Hard Drive to "www.testingserver.com/testsite"
via FTP.

I want to be able to sync from this direction: HARD DISK --> FTP (testsite) --> FTP (livesite) and vice versa.

My boss wants "testsite" to be able to sync between me and another designer who works from home, who is also sync'ed to "testsite".

Is this possible in Dreamweaver or do I have to have 2 profiles: "HD to FTP testsite" and another "FTP testsite to FTP livesite"?

What I haven't figured out in DW8 is how to set up "Local" to be an FTP address.

There is no way to synch multiple sites to your HD in DW, it just isn't that kind of tool. You would need at least 2 sites setup in DW to do this:

Hard Drive --> FTP site -- local to remote
FTP Site --> live site -- local to remote
You might also set up hard drive -->live site if they must all be the same.

Bummer...hopefully Adobe can make this possible in the future...

BTW, above you say "FTP Site --> live site -- local to remote", Is there a way that I'm missing to do one FTP address (as "Local") to another FTP address (as "Remote")?

If I can at least do that, that would solve half my problem.

Well, if you can go DISK -> FTP -> TESTING and DISK -> FTP -> PRODUCTION, I have to do that all the d@mn time at work. I was using Windows Explorer as a drag-n-drop FTP client ( just type ftp://ftp.yoursite.com into the address bar ) for a while, but I hate going through folders of folders looking for just the right file.

Luckily, I write code for a living, and I'm only going to let myself be annoyed at something like this for so long ... I wrote up some software for the task:

It's set up for multiple sits, which can have the same or different local ( hard disc ) and ftp addresses. It'll watch the folder on your local system/network where you edit your site, and notice when a file changes, flag it to be uploaded. But you have to okay the upload - sometimes I'll edit the same file ten times in a row...

Anyway, caveat emptor: this is in beta, it's Windows only, and you need the .NET Framework 2.0 for it to run. You probably already have that, though, it's been on Windows Update for a little more than a year.
