Hello All!

This is my very 1st post, and I am glad to be part of these great communities! OK, some n00b questions!

One of my friends wants me to update his web site, the problem is that the guy who developed this web site is not in touch with my friend anymore, so obtaining the files are impossible. Is there a method to import contents of a given web site (very simple one indeed), so I can port it over to the new domain that we obtained for him?

Thanks in advance!

With no databases it is as simple as using an ftp program to transfer all the files to your local computer and then upload them to the new site.

Now if you do not have ftp access about the only thing you can do is grab the source files in a browser and save them to upload. You also have to copy the images.

Ask specific questions from this point.

If you don't have FTP access anymore to the host, you can simply save the page using the File menu at the top of your browser. Make sure you save it as a complete web page, so the images are save as well.

Thanks, I manage to download a utility called HTTrack Website Copier. It did wonders as far as maintaining the original structure of the web site.
