What WYSIWYG editor you use is entirely your own preference. BUT, if you are just starting to learn web design, I suggest you lose the WYSIWYG editor. New designers who don't understand how to write proper HTML create VERY sloppy pages.

Another thing to remember, the editor is only as good as the person using it. Get a firm knowledge of coding HTML and CSS by hand using notepad FIRST. You'll be a better designer in the long run.

It's well-known across the 'Net that MS FrontPage is not the most proficient HTML Editor, as it throws in numerous lines of useless code, oftentimes making your site load slower and most likely will not display properly in all browsers.

Tom_M is correct in the advice he gave you.

I forgot to mention, I personally have never used Frontpage. I use Dreamweaver. But ANY WYSIWYG editor will spit out garbage code if you let it.

I have seen a lot of Frontpage code, and it does seem to put some bloated code. It also uses some sort of Microsoft proprietary code that only other MS products understand. There is another post somewhere in these forums where a person designed a page in Frontpage, and it only displays correctly in Internet Explorer. Another reason to steer clear of Frontpage.

Exactly Tom -- which is why many of us "old farts" do hand-coding in our Editors.

I started building websites in frontpage and dreamweaver... Those were the days... These days all of my work is done in a text editor (Quanta). I don't know of any professionals who use Dreamweaver - that's just one of those things.

Hi - The problem with Frontpage, is that is does not use transitional coding. It will appear different in most browsers as it includes all sorts of weird coding specifically unique to FrontPage. If you want to use an app. rather than coding from scratch - I'd suggest Dreamweaver
