If anyone can tell me what web 2.0 really is, you get a cookie. And don't point me to Wikipedia. I've been there, and I've read it lol.

Anyway, i'm not sure what your looking for here? Cross browser fonts that you should use in web design?

There is no such thing as a Web 2.0 font. Fonts are fonts and there are only a handful that will work for EVERY browser. Unless you use a method like sIFR, you're stuck with those.

Web 2.0 is a 'look' (stupid reflections, bright color palette etc.) and it's more about web APPLICATIONS than anything else.

Web 2.0 is a state of mind, but if you absolutely must have the look, use so called "humanist" sans serif fonts like tahoma, arial and MyriadPro - that's the one apple use for their iPod marketing, so it's quite recognisable.

The only problem with all those fonts is that very few people will have the non-standard fonts on their machines, so it would be pointless to use one of them in a web page.

Yeah, and lots of AJAX. Think the to field in gmail, or suggested tags in del.icio.us.

I really like Monotype Corsova. Tried using it on my site, but it just doesn't work. Inside of images, as watermarks, stuff like that, where the client doesn't need to have the font installed on the user's machine, it's perfect.
But as text, and anything you want the search bots to see needs to be text, you really need to stick to the fonts your visitors are going to have.

Well, you CAN get around that limitation with sIFR, if you are willing to take the time to do it.

Well, I don't think web 2.0 fonts exist as such. Well, what I know about them is that they have really smooth curves and are very simple. Not the "trashed" fonts. Just simple text. But the colors are usually bright and radiant.

If you're gonna start a web 2.0 site, then I recommend that you find a text for yourself or make one. You need something to set you apart. And, I think you shouldn't use those fonts in the plain text because many people won't have such fonts and they'll end up seeing black squares which affects the visitor experience.

And, Tom_m, what I know is, web 2.0 is something related to social media. Social media is a concept which came into being in the post-2000 periods. Since they really caught the attention of the world, O'reilly (i guess) coined the word Web 2.0 for it. Example for Web 2.0 sites are Myspace, Orkut, Mybloglog, Digg (I believe) etc. Something they have in common is the ability to add "friends". This is definitely not a official answer to the question. This is what I think it is.

Don't forget to gimme some talkupation for that. (lol) Just joking.

Tom_m, check this out !! . I did a little research for an answer to your question - "What is Web 2.0 ?" and I think I got a great resource. Its a Youtube video explaining the whole concept. Here it is :- http://www.conversationblog.com/jour...e-machine.html

Sorry to make 2 posts. I don't have the time to edit the previous post and make it one. Kinda busy. Typed everything as fast as a speeding bullet in the Quick Reply box.
