Hello, I am currently working on a new website and need some advice as too what programs I should use to accomplish this or code , ect...

I want to build a website that has say 15000 .wav format files that are all catagorized say like Punk, Rock, Hip Hop, Classical, ect..

and the user can search threw them easy and once they find the sound they can listen to it, but not download. If they like what they hear they will be able to download it but it will cost say .10 cents to download the .wav file. With no traces of where the file actually is so people like us cant find the link in the code somewhere or download it for free, so they cant say.. hack the system to get free .wav files.

I would also like forums, I was thinking of maybe some kind of content management system for this, but maybe there is something better. Like say use one program for the first part / downloading / searching/ paying for .wav files via paypal, ect.. and then a second program that is just strictly a forum program like phpBB, or something else better.

What is the most secure, way to do this? I am as my name says "Still Learning" and would like some advice from the pro's on this..

also I would like to know how often should a webmaster back up the website? does it depend on how much traffic its getting?

Depends how often your webhost backs up files!
Although, you should have a copy of your sites files on your comp at all times.

Maybe backup your SQL DB monthly or weekly if its addded to a lot.
Whats your traffic like? And how dependant are you on DB?

Should I just get one CMS like Joomla, PHPnuke or something, and edit everything out except the downloads and forums?

I used to have a site that got about a million+ hits a month but sold it, because someone kept hacking it. It was a phpBB forum site. I backed up maybe like once a month before the daily hackings. And it took too much of my time trying to keep fixing it, that I just sold it on ebay.

I plan on opening some new sites though, and needed to know mostly about the .wav file player/paypal download thing. I know some CMS have paypal ability built in allready, but I am new to these new CMS like Joomla, Wordpress, ect.. I have been useing I guess "Old school" PhpNUke and PhpBB

oh and the hosting was by globat.. their security really sucks!

I would never recommend them..
