Do you think search engine submission is pointless anymore? I mean search engines probably find you faster by themselves anyway right? Or do you still take the time to submit? And what about directories even. Do they work the same as the engines do?

I have yet to find goo tutorials or articles on search engine submission.

Yes Tom, it's pointless to a degree -- as soon as you load your new site onto a server, the SE's find it very quickly; however, some still prefer that old method.

Directories are another method, but should be used carefully -- the quickest way is to attempt to maintain fresh content, such as writing articles; etc.
