How do you make mp3s preload sequentially?

I need to embed some MP3 files into my website ( http://www.rpwsj.com : podcasts/talk shows). I would like to have them preloaded for performance reasons, but it needs to be done sequentially not all at once to be nice to the user's bandwidth.

What I need is to be able to start preloading the next immediately after the previous one has completed. How can I determine when one embedded MP3 has finished downloading so that I can have the page start the next one?

Is there some other way of doing this?

Sounds like what you need is a streaming solution.

The thing I don't like about streaming is how those on less than high-speed connections end up having their episodes halted, continued, and halted continuously because the player plays faster than they can download the stream. That and it only streams what they're listening to. What I would like is that while they're listening to the "Introduction" episode, the page is downloading the other episodes so when they're done with the "Introduction", they can select from those already downloaded, start listening to them (minus any halt-go issues), and while they listen to that one the rest of the episodes continue to download.
