theres a complete wealth of information contained within the 4 virtual walls of this forum. the best part? whatever your problem, wherever you're from, however old, or young, and however much expierience you have in any field, from the simple newbie to the industrial strength assembler programmer, we're all united in our common cause of web sites.
i've already "met" many people who've helped me with many problems. many of them i've met in the Web Building Chatroom on AOL (forgive me for using aol), and i've always found them knowledgable and willing to help.
thats the bit that makes web building fun. extending yourself, pushing the boundaries further. whether its taking your first nervous steps into coding that email link yourself with basic html, or diversly coding your own hit counter that logs IP addresses, search referrers, browser, resolution, colour depth and operating system (i love that counter

).
everyone here is here because we all enjoy the same things, and thats what makes the place great. you know no matter what the problem, there is always a helping hand online to help you, within maybe 2 days max.
theres hundreds of posts that i've not read yet, and probably never will. no doubt containing yet more perls (note the comedy pun) of wisdom to help us in the future. the ones that i have read have already helped me a great deal. merely asking people to criticise my site has left me with 5+ points requiring my immediate attention, with more to come i'm sure! but i've responded and reviewed other peoples sites, advised them. thats what makes it great, you do things for others, and they'll do things for you.
here, its not a "get what you can and get out" kind of thing, its a "put in, and you'll get more out" attitude, which is so much more mutually beneficial.
so thankx guys, for everything. to the webmasters who've spent prolonged hours on caffeine highs with blood shot eyes just to keep the forum here, and to the crazy regulars (who no doubt have long white beards) who are always helping people. you're the people that keep this place alive.
