I'm having a bit of trouble deciding what to put on the index page of my pet mouse site. I have a bit of a summary there now but it looks cluttered and I don't like it. Any ideas?

i agree that's it's cluttered but it's not a summary! By that i mean the sentences are padded out when only a few words will do. I would change as follows for brevity :

Welcome to the Pet Mice Guide, if you have a mice we have the info, if you are about to buy one, then we can help. We aim to help you look after your mouse by offering all the information you'll need that's just a click away.

If you're thinking of buying a mouse, we summarise up the pros and cons so you can make an informed decision, Mice as pets. We dispel mouse myths and can even tell you when and where you should purchase your mice.

We cover many of the basics about owning and interacting with a mouse that you might not know, including the proper way to pick up a mouse and other precautions you should be aware of. We can even show you how to train your mouse to do simple tricks like coming when called.
