I've tried to creat a favicon icon to go into the address bar. I've followed the instructions I found on the web and saved it at the root, www.southafrica.to/favicon.ico but it does not appear in the address bar. Can you help?

It seems to work ok for IE7, Opera 9.1, Firefox 1.5?

My guess is that you're referring to IE6? If so, I believe it only displays there if you add the site to your bookmarks. You also might want to add this to your head:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Also - have you seen your site in any of the above browsers? You have to scroll down a long way to find the content...

I suspect that's because you've based it on the old/incorrect IE box model (I believe IE6 in quirks mode uses this?), but another important point is your html doesn't validate

I can't get to your html ( in FF 2 ) to look around, but I'm pretty sure this isn't what you want ... see attached.

Did you go to http://www.southafrica.to/favicon.ico instead of http://www.southafrica.to perhaps?

Oops ... you're right. I clicked the link in your first ad, which explains why I couldn't get on to your page after canceling. In that case, actually, the favicon works in FireFox.

I'm using both IE7 & Firefox but cant see it - even after adding the code suggested.

Works fine here and IE6 doesn't display favicons, only in the bookmarks
