I started building http://www.ad-swap.net

After realizing and thinking about how much people hate popups (this site would be on exit popunders) I have decided against this idea.

I am looking for other ideas for this site/domain??

By the way, all the sample logos at the bottom would not stay. They are just headers to choose from.

the only thing i can think of is a banner exchange. its hard to think of anything else for AD-swap

As Kizon said, I think the best idea for that domain would be some sort of banner exchange. It would be interesting if you could set up one where there were multiple types of advert e.g.
Banners
Buttons
Text
Rich Media
and each one earned a different number of credits. Then the webmaster of the site could choose which ones to put on their site, and also advertise using many different methods on other sites. I would certainly use that!

Apart from that, my only other idea would be a site like e-lance but instead of working for money the freelancers would work for advertising.... might be a market for that.

yes i agree with david and kizon, the only thing i can think of that has to do with ad-swap is an ad exchange site, unless you wish to turn it into a jokes site or something then just say the name is an inside joke, it always works
well other than that, you can maybe also turn it into a forum where people discuss ad-swaps and swap...i guess.
or you can say ad. is short for something like...adjacent (thats just an example) and you can turn the site into something else.

Since it is an ad-swap, you could still include pop-ups/unders as one type of ad-swaps that are available. You could also broaden the purpose of the site to making ads as a service (design, ad copy, etc.) and keep the price low in order to build up a portfolio and the user puts an 88x31 button on their site.

For a script, there are a couple of members working on scripts and you could put that in the barter section.

I used to be a memeber of an old banner exchange (WebDevExchange if anyone remembers it) which was excellent. I think they were using:

which is shareware ($50) to register.

I expect there will be better solutions which have been released since then, though.
