I think this is the right place for this post. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on managing e-mail subscriptions. I’m just looking for a simple subscribe/unsubscribe from on our site the takes a person’s name and e-mail. I was looking into having a database on my server that stores all of the requests and then importing them to my local drive into a program that sends out customized e-mails.

I don’t care about html e-mails at this point. Being able to insert simple graphics would be great. I’ve seen lots of list services, but I don’t like the idea of another company having the e-mails (they sell them, etc), not to mention the monthly cost of the list service.

Anybody got some ideas about the best way to do it that’s cheap, easy, and possible for a beginner to do? Open to any suggestions – even list services.

I got a question though, your webhost don't provide any mailing list software? They usually bundle it up with the hosting package.

surfmon -sorry for the llor (long lack of reply). I have ipwerweb and they don't have mailing list software that I'm aware of. I checked out subscibe me and it seems like the way to go. The Enterprise is the version I was looking at - although I wish I could find an equivalent program that wasn't $200.
