I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but you could use a php include so that you only have to edit one file.

Ok, I am using Cutenews as a portal and this is my layout but what I have on the layout is a welcome box and an affiliate box. I need to be able to put text in the boxes so can you help me?

You need to "slice" the image and use the seperate images to create a HTML/CSS layout.

Aaffiliates and welcome links can be made by creating several images that are pressed together, but this style of web design is best left to outdated/porn sites.
