I ain't really good at website designing, but I've got to do minor tweaks to the site. www.mydatawise.com. ( I've put a thread here for redoing the logo).

I want to add a gradient to the background, something like microsoft.com or ubuntu.com , but a gray one. I'm not sure as to where the editing needs to be done to accommodate this idea. I'd also want to see a border between the gradient and the center. I'm using Joomla on the site.

Also, more suggestions regarding the design of the site are welcome.

Thanks.

You will need to make a background image and then choose with CSS on the "body" tag how you want it to repeat.

If you have a look at the Microsoft for example's background the image is here:

http://i2.microsoft.com/shared/core/...age_BG_btm.png

You can see that is all they use and then they use CSS formatting to set the background.

If you have a look at http://www.tizag.com/cssT/background.php and scroll down the bottom it will talk you through how to add a gradient background (just do this but use the body tag in the CSS File)

I think MS may have done it so it repeats but turns upside down so it matches up?

Hope this helps.

Nick

That did help me with the gradient.

I'm also looking forward to getting curvy edges.
