I was wondering if anyone had bought any images from Gecko Stock yet? It's a reletively new website, I'm thinking about putting some of my photography on there. I'm also thinking about buying a couple of business related images for a new website I'm designing for an IT company.

Thanks in advance.

Something fishy going on here. If you can take good enough pictures to sell, why would you buy them instead of just doing your own for free?

Why Gecko instead of Zemo, or the 100,000 other ones? I've never heard of them before, probably never will again, so that seems fishy. Sorry to give you the 3rd degree, but so many people sign up and only ever post once, just to create a little traffic to their site, that I'm really more curious about that than the web site.

If you're a photographer looking to sell to stock, you're probably better off with Alamy. I say that without having seen any of your work, but they're midway between Getty and iStock. They pay much better than micro-stock, and most people with a little bit of talent and skill can be accepted.

I haven't heard of Gecko, either, and I work and play in this industry. That might be a good thing if you're looking to find somewhat unique images that haven't hit the saturation point, but if you're trying to sell anything, you want a representative with customers. Look at it this way, I know the number of employees Corbis just laid off ( 150 ), because they're going on two decades and would like to make a profit for once, but this is the first I've heard of Gecko.
