Ok, so I bought a domain recently (idolize.xxx) and I'm looking for suggestions of what I might use it for. I have come up with a couple of ideas but I want your input (perhaps some people have some more imaginative ideas). I think it is a great domain.

So, any suggestions?

I think you need to re-think your approach!
You should think about what you want to make a site about, check it's not already been done a million times and THEN sort out a domain name.

I bought it from a forum, only cost me $20 so I thought why not.

Webmaster Idol, a reality TV show where a bunch of web design equivalents to William Hung show off their Front Page sites in an attempt to land million-dollar contracts.

(Dude, seriously, Tom's given you the best advice you're going to get...you went backwards with this.)

I agree with Tom about the approach, but now that you have the name, here are some thoughts:

1. Create a website where people come and enter the name of someone that they idolize and a message, and then the person has to come and figure out who may have left the message. Kind of a community thing. You would need to seriously publicize it in the facebook/myspace community but it might take.

2. Have profiles every day or week of people who did something heroic and have people vote on who they idolize in that selection and why. Have members suggest idols of their own and explain why, and then everyone votes.

3. Have an informative website about different idols over time and why they've been idolized--- potential to be boring...

4. Idol of the week type of thing...

etc etc... not very creative, but they're ideas.

Just don't make it anything to do with american idol show because so much has been done on that already. Put a whole different spin on the whole idol word. Also, try not to make it about celebrities because that's another one that's been overdone, instead make it about ordinary people, mothers, fathers, high school crushes, etc.
