I am new to posting on this forum. I'm starting a web copywriting business and looking to team up with a budding web designer to develop both of our portfolios.

Does anyone have any ideas how to proceed with finding a web designer who might have an interest?

I would appreciate any help or suggestions you may have.

I'm not sure if this is the best approach, but you might just try searching for web designers and contact the ones who seem to have the most need for a copywriter.

My guess is your best bet will be to first accept some freelance work writing for a designer or two and build the relationship with them.

Spend some time here and at other forums and in online communities in general and just let it be known you want to connect with a web designer. Post a link in your sig here so the rest of us can see some examples of your writing too.

Freelance is the way to go. A new web designer will have a hard time closing any web design deals, especially with clients who will actually be willing to pay for copy writing services. After being in the web business for over 10 yearsm you'd be surprised how many people don't care about their actual website content.

Aproach a few companies - don't tie yourself down with a newbie.
