I recently started up a web site (presteignebusiness [dot] co [dot] uk) to help get quality traffic to my hosting site because my target market is local businesses and individuals. I'm hosting the site myself and giving free articles away to local businesses but I've just found out that the local town and community site is doing the same but at a price.
I've now found out that their community site is supported by the advertising revenue generated from a small number of adverts, and that this is just enough to cover their costs (e.g. hosting, poster printing and other activities). By undercutting them and offering free article submissions, the administrator is worried he will lose his adverts and that their site may even end up closing! I don't want to close down my site, but at the same time, the community web site (presteigne [dot] org [dot] uk) is extremely important to the local area and I don't want to damage it in any way.
WHAT DO I DO?!
