Just seen this site for sale http://livefootballscore.info/

Im going to put a bid in but need to know how its run. How do the scores update ?? I dont want to end up buying it then find out it stops working.

This is great for an idea I have.

Most likely an external feed from another source, failing that....someone with a lot of time on their hands....

Thanks for the reply, I think from the sales description it is a script. I assume the script picks up from an external source as you have said. I'm just wondering if that source stops am I stuffed or would it be easy ish for someone to write another script to feed from another source?

One other thing I have to click refresh to get the times to change. How easy would it be to make the site update the time and scores on its own?

First Question: If the source stops you will need to find another one, the script should be robust enough to handle a change in source but the source may be in a different format so that would mean an entirely new parser would need to be written, depending on your programming skills this may or may not be a problem.

Second - You could use Ajax to get them to update at set intervals although this should be built on top of a working underlying framework so that spiders, bots and screenreaders can access the site as well.
