Website Review and Suggestions

This is the first website I have made and I am still changing things and need to add content to the left bar, but I would like some suggestions of things I can do to improve the site and make it more attractive.

Since this site is not yet online i will post a screenshot.

Well, James, probably for the first trial it's not that bad, but I would recommend to you to choose another color scheme and don't use dark colors for the background. Besides I do not like your logo at all. Neither its design, nor the colors you use for it. It looks a little bit messy. Sorry.

If this is your firts website it is good. I suggest to align the subtitles to the left (it will look more clean when the subtitles and paragraphs will be aligned in the same way). Good luck!

I agree with the title and subtitles being to the left and will change that.

I like the color scheme but i think i will make a couple of other color schemes and let the visitor choose.

I will think about recreating the logo but first i need to learn how to use macromedia fireworks(someone made this logo for me).

The design looks a little bit outdated really - you could do with making it smoother and less "boxy".

I think it would be improved if you changed the grey background as it's a bit 90s sort of style and the black doesn't go great on it either.

Also add a bit of padding in the CSS so that the writing isn't on the very edge of the grey colour or whatever you replace that with, if you choose to replace the grey background.

Yes the comments about your choice of colour i totally agree with

Also the left bar may be a problem for your seo. Be attentive to the content placed there as this is what the google spider will read first on arriving on your site, in the current page lay out you have

If you are optimising for certain keywords, be sure to put the keyword in your left bar.

The other way to get around this is to lower your left bar alittle so that the text in your main table is higher in the layout

Niche: This layout doesn't use any table(its made completely with css) so how would that affect its search engine optimization.

Sorry i didn't come back quickly was working on one of my sites

What i meant was when google crawls your site, it does this in a left to right manner.

If any text that does not help your seo effort is placed in your left bar, eg google ads or whatever, google reads this first.

For seo, keyword prominence, as i am sure you know, is important.

Personally i would go for a layout that gets rid of that left bar

There are tutorials, some in video, on the effect of page lay out on seo out there

If you get your layout right in the early stages then life is a little easier

I can see white pixels on your logo I suggest fixing that it makes your site look CHEESY
