Website Review and Suggestions

Guys,

I basically started off as a basic travel guide then I stumbled upon a technology which offers hotel price comparison from all travel industry leaders (wholesale and retail) do a search and you will be really amazed (it compares 30 websites). I integrated that technology with my website seamless.

The url is http://www.vtrip.info

Right now the flight details triggered of the Kayak.com, I'm working on the Kayak API to bring the flight deals seamless within the site and add a feature which kayak doens't have.

Please share you thoughts on technology, ease of use and the looks.

I think the navigation could be a little more interesting. I like the background gradient theme. Great (AJAX?) loading script.

Yup... its ajax. I left the navigation simple on purpose, i want it to be more search engine friendly than a javascript.

I think the site looks pretty good for now - how do you plan on expanding on the same? Is this meant to be the final layout?

Thanks you guys for your thoughts....

Yes. If you look at the bottom you will see the Continent links those links will get to the country specific travel guides details, they are very basic.

I'm planning on expanding it to get as much details possible on each destination and get every day hotel deals on those country pages, blend in without hurting the content.

What do you think?

Pretty good looking site, with nice ajax

I would add some graphic in your menu, some rollover web2.0 buttons. But anyway great site!

Thanks for your thoughts skyblue, My first attempt is to reach the audience with this unique service. Next I want the site to load fast even in dialup...

Everything looks good except for the header. It looks like it was just stuck in there as an after thought. It really looks out of place.

its a little bit disturbing that when you click flights and then you go back to hotels it has to load that iframe again which takes a good 3-4 seconds
without showing anything in that time ...

Thank you for the review.

Actually if you are using Firefox, it will do that because.

When you switch to Flight and select the date on the flight section and switch back for some reason, firefox was not displaying the IFRAME Content.

I confirmed its a compatibility issue and firefox is not refreshing the IFRAME when the div is enabled, so the content looks empty, i tried to force just the IFRAME but Firefox attempts and not refreshing the content.

So I decided to refresh the page only if the user is using Firefox, try it on IE it should not happen.

you are right it does not do it in IE as long as you know the issue I am fine, but it does look very disturbing maybe you should think some other work around ...

Thanks xprmnt. I'm watching for a work around for this cross browser compatibility issue. IFRAME has limit access to the javascript functions and even if it does, Firefox seems to use the cache and not updating it.

When I upgrade the Flight service with the API module, this will vanish.

Mean time, I will add this log in a the help section.

For this forum this is the first time, Ofcourse I wanted people to notice a nice service... I'm updating new features as well ... Instead of going to same place for travel booking and pay more to one vendor, why not use these kind of free services and get a comparison chart and smart about what we buy.

the design is very good and stuff but i seriously don't like te logo :S i think that needs a bit more work done!
