Website Review and Suggestions

I have devised a Rock Paper Scissors website where you can challenge other players or a computer. It is no where near finished yet but need to know if I am going in the right direction.

Could I have your opinions please. The Multiplayer is not working yhet though you can still go onto the lobby and use the AJAX Chatbox that I made.

The site is best viewed in and optimised for Firefox, I am aware the chatbox messes up with IE6.

Edit: a side note is that on the 'Create an Account' page I have just AJAX'ed the username field to check the username automatically.

Are there any other rock paper scissors sites out right now? If this is a first, I'm sure you'll get some viral traffic and plenty of people looking to waste time at work, especially with the multiplayer feature. Is the computer's selection completely random or have you tried to build in some sort of algorithm for making choices?

Seems like a neat project.

Thank you. I don't think there's any sites that are like this one.

The Computer is random, however there are implementations to keep it from being a no brainer. For example, if you keep clicking Rock, it'll click on after so long and will go for Paper.

Thats not a very smart way to go, you want your site to be "optimized" for all browsers, and at the very least compatible.

Love the concept (when I read mmo rock paper scissors I chuckled)

I played a few rounds with the computer, and I have to say it got really boring really fast, might I suggest an animation or flash of some sort, throw is some variables or something. Watching "computer chose paper, its a draw" isnt very exciting.

Very Nice website, layout and colors interesting game... but people may get bored, since the choice is limited.

I understood this when I thought of the site, however the Computer is only a tester for the real thing, the multiplayer. I have considered adding some randomised responses from the computer for when he wins/loses. Already there is an implementation where if you have a winner avatar uploaded then when you win that avatar will be displayed. Loser avatar viceversa.

Regarding the Firefox compatability. I also take IE into consideration. However, Firefox is always tested first. Now I am aware that there are some problems with IE on the site but they are only minor things. I do put effort into other browser compatability as well, I'm not that no-brained.

I like the design. I think this kind of site is unprecedented. It's an interesting concept, but I think that it should be built on.

nice idee... i never heard about an online rsp or rps ,

the design looks good...fresh, i like it !

a sollution for the "it gets boring" would be, in my opinion, would be if you make a small game with a bunch of characters doing something, or like a board game with pions and such and theyr actions would be determined by the rock sccisor paper game

...just my 2 cents

Another thing that may be worth noting is that registered users have their single player and multiplayer scores recorded and scores are then worked into a Karma (simple wins takeaway loses) so you can see how lucky you are

Private messaging is also implemented and you can see whos online and where they are.

I suck at this game, so I hate it.

By the way, that should say "Losses."

Other than that, it's a complete waste of time, which is GREAT because this is EXACTLY THE KIND OF USELESS CRAP THE INTERNET WAS INTENDED FOR!
