I am designing a new template for my forum what do you think of it I have a few bugs to work out!

I have to be honest, I don't like it.

The colours just don't go, the logo can hardly be seen because of the fire and the links at the top are for some reason images.

I would go for a template / layout that is a lot smoother with nicer colours because Black and Red seems very 1990's.

I agree that would be better that you use other template or redesign yours. Take a look at other forums designs that you like. See how Web2.0 looks. If you still don't know how to make good looking gradients or clean glossy buttons, download free styles for photoshop and try with it. Your idea is not bad, but you should work on it more. Keep working..

Well done for trying but to be honest the site looks terrible. It's so out of date and actually painful on the eye after a few minutes.
There are so many better looking and busier forums on the subjects you are covering, I don't know why anyone would use this site.

My recommendation: change the template - find a niche topic for your fourms.

I agree with Nick and the others. The red and black should go. The fire is awkward in the banner and logo. The logo should be more defined also.
You've got a good community going there but your design needs work.

I'm sorry, but I don't really like this design. I don't think that those colors work together very well.
