Hi, I'm currently working on upgrading one of the websites I maintain. Here's the work in progress version.

Please provide your thoughts on this site, both standalone and compared to the original.

Thankyou!

I should also mention that the IE specific stylesheet is in the works, so it may look funny in internet explorer - bug reports are welcome.

I can respect the fact that you stuck with original colors.

1. Much better content body than the original, the slight transparency works great.

2. in IE it looks fine, the only problem I noticed is the pop out images on the right tend to overlap.

3. You might want to consider changing your text up a little bit, white on blue same size, no variation, gets boring after a while.

4. I would put more images on your homepage, make it more like a store site. I counted. Pop outs are cool and all, but making it so you dont know when your going to see an image or not gets old.

5. Fix your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. For example:
Quote:
Does your venue need a makeover or are you setting up a new venue??? We can get your new venue off the ground with top quality equipment professionally installed and with all equipment and work warranted.*
You shouldn't have three question marks after a question, or an asterisk at the end of a sentence. I spotted numerous counts on multiple pages.

All in all good re-design, colors can get repetitive but it is original and better than the old one.

8/10

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I should mention that the content isn't strictly mine - the site is database driven, grabbing content originally created by a WYSIWYG HTML tool (FCKeditor) by the owner of the business. I do my best to correct his grammar wherever possible.

The IE pop out bug is just that...an IE bug. I'm working on an interim fix.

As for the more images thing - I can see where you're coming from. Again, the content isn't mine, just the layout and the PHP that gets the content on the screen and looking nice.

Thanks

Pinhani - I personally think the blue and grey design looks nice, did you have any particular suggestions?

No, the site can't be changed from dark generally to light generally, due to the logo, which has a dark background and can't be changed.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion about fonts, Verdana does look a little nicer overall, although my headings seem to be rendering very poorly (pixellation).
